Greg Bates received his
masters degree in
education from Harvard
University in 1985 and
went on to hone his
passion for editing
while publishing over
150 books, since 1980.
In 1990, he co-founded
Common Courage Press
where he has edited and
published many distinguished authors including
Noam Chomsky, Jean Bertrand Aristide, Anne
Firth Murray, Jennifer Harbury, Paul Farmer,
Jim Kim, and Howard Zinn, plus many others.
He currently resides in a quaint farmhouse in
Monroe, Maine, where he continues to help
writers and authors distinguish their styles and
further their publishing goals, in both fiction and
non-fiction. He also consults on the business of
getting published.
Greg has edited fiction as well as having much
expertise in the editing of non-fiction works on
